Changing trends in salwar have been constant over the years and we very often find the patterns of the 60’s and 70’s repeat in the modern times. Salwars with long sleeves, short sleeves, stone and sequin work, embroidery salwars, Patiala model salwars and many more that were the style of the medieval times have caught up with the trend in the fashion industry. One such salwar of the 60’s which has made its come back with its unique style is the Anarkali salwar.

The anarkali salwar used to be the traditional wear of the muslim women community in India usually worn with a dhupatta which goes across the neck and used to cover their head as well.  Colour combinations, exclusive patterns and works, the fabric used on these salwars have made it the most popular and fast selling in the market.

The pattern is designed to be a correct fit or a bit tight in the upper part or the yolk and flary from the mid ribline. It is usually embossed with coloured stones, motifs, motis, beads, sequin, embroidery works in the upper half of the salwar and the lower half has simple designs and contrasting colours to the upper part of the salwar. The dhuppata is dyed in a dual colour of the shades of the salwar adding to the beauty and elegance of the salwar.

Whether it is the complexity of the designs and the works, the material used, the colour combinations or innovative creations of the textile designers, the anarkali salwar rules the salwar world. It can be worn for special occasions as a designer wear, party wear, traditional or casual wear.

Georgette, chiffon, cotton, polyester mix are the different fabrics ranges and is multicoloured as well.  These salwars being the latest in trend speak of feminism and quite appealing to all the women folk.
